WTA Finals 2026 at Indian Wells

The WTA Finals were due to be held in Riyadh but moved to Indian Wells in California, the venue better known for the spring “Sunshine Double” event. Total prize money is $15.5 million.

Qualified players

Seven players had qualified by 20 October, according to the WTA: Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, Mirra Andreeva, Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Elina Svitolina and Linda Noskova. Karolina Muchova was in pole position for the eighth and final spot, needing only Marta Kostyuk to miss the Ningbo final, and later reports list her in the field.

In doubles, Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend, and Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani, were among the first teams to qualify.

ATP Finals 2026 in Turin

This is the sixth straight year in Turin. Places go to the top eight in the PIF ATP Race to Turin after the Paris Masters, the final regular event of the season.

Who has qualified?

  • Alexander Zverev (Germany): top of the Race on 9,150 points
  • Carlos Alcaraz (Spain)
  • Ben Shelton (USA)

The race for the last places

Sinner (7,950 points) is second in the Race but has ended his season, so the player who finishes ninth will take the final spot. Here’s how the contenders stood on 18 October:

Race positionPlayerPoints
5Flavio Cobolli (ITA)3,540
6Daniil Medvedev3,420
7Frances Tiafoe (USA)3,380
8Arthur Fils (FRA)3,325
9Rafael Jódar (ESP)3,159
10Alex de Minaur (AUS)2,880
11Novak Djokovic (SRB)2,840
12Tommy Paul (USA)2,585

With five places effectively open and only a few hundred points between fifth and ninth, the Paris Masters will decide most of the field. A home qualifier in Flavio Cobolli would also lift ticket demand in Turin after Sinner’s withdrawal.

In doubles, defending champions Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten qualified first, along with Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos and Christian Harrison/Neal Skupski.

How the Tour Finals Format Works

Both Finals use the same structure:

  1. Eight players are split into two groups of four.
  2. Each player plays the other three in their group (round robin).
  3. The top two from each group reach the semi-finals, with group winners facing the other group’s runner-up.
  4. The two semi-final winners play the final.

Group ties are broken by number of wins, then matches played, then head-to-head, then percentages of sets and games won. ATP singles matches are best of three sets with a tie-break in every set. If you’re unsure how tie-breaks work, see tennis scoring explained.

Both events are played indoors or under lights on hard courts, which suit big servers. Our guide to clay, grass and hard courts explains why surface speed matters.

Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna

Italy host the Final 8 as three-time defending champions. The qualified nations are Italy, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Austria, Canada, Czechia and South Korea, who are making their first Final 8 appearance. Ties are best of three rubbers: two singles and a doubles.

The women’s equivalent, the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, has already been played: Czechia beat Ukraine 2-0 in Shenzhen in September to win their 12th title.
